Snow Lake

There is a trail that allows you to hike all around Snow Lake. Piles of melting snow are quite common - Greg likes to keep a clip so we avoid any avalanche adventures.

The scenery is worthy of wide-eyed surprise.

Denver Weekend

Finally got Meg to Denver to meet Jeff, Michelle and JR - far more fun was had than photos taken. Thank goodness we documented our Cricket burger lunch.

The Ring

Greg really "nailed it" with the ring. This little close up is for all those who keep asking to see it and live to far away to grab Meg's left hand and simply take a look.

Steven's Pass Snowshoe

Nothing more magical than a snowshoe adventure with a new engagement ring to weigh Meg down on the hike up to beautiful Lanham Lake.

The hike along Lanham Creek presented plenty of steep, sweaty challenge, an incredible ice cave, and some frozen tundra more gorgeous than any winter wonderland we've recently seen.

Happily engaged. (Note Greg's facial scruff. He is preparing to cut in a fetching stache later this month!)

The lake was only overcast for a moment, then came a sun-filled break... and just in time for snacks.

Leavenworth, WA - Bavarian Delight

After a morning of snow adventure, our Pine River B&B cabin's jacuzzi tub was just what the evening ordered. It also ordered several large cans of happy hour beer from the local gas station... the perfect compliment to any hot tub.

Thank the good Lord for heaping plates of German meat. The disturbing rate at which this meat disappeared would only surprise those whose father's were not pig farmers. Hard not to consume at a good tempo with a 5-man polka band playing next to us in the bar.

Binoculars at Icicle Creek

A little cloudy but that would not possibly deter us from attempting to spy critters outside of Leavenworth, WA.

Who doesn't love a thespian?

Hiking with poles is wonderful as it can provide a significant arm workout, however it is essential for winter hiking you don't forget your baskets at home. I might have well as thrown my poles into Icicle Creek.

Pietz is what some may call a master snowshoer. Meg's mastery of the video clip is not quite there.
