Milwaukee Post Christmas

Uncle Greg and his favorite niece, Lily and nephew, Charlie spent high quality time sledding and enjoying Milwaukee's white December.

Lucky toboggan #206 was able to hold 4 adults and 2 kids (in a cozy, squished fashion) and was nothing less than a terrifyingly fun experience.

Happy Thanksgiving

It takes many pilgrims and Indians to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. We could not have had more delicious food or fabulous company.

Hike to a Ghost Town

Heading out for a late fall hike in the misty rain turned into heavy snow for a 9 mile adventure.

It was a winter wonderland... and a bit tricky not to sing Christmas carols the entire time.

We were bundled for all the elements.

We didn't see a soul the entire day making the ghost town even spookier.

After crossing over the river on fallen trees and trudging through miles of snow, we came to a row of empty cabins which was once Monte Cristo Township.

Thank goodness we brought snacks after hiking all that way.

The views were delectable...

Pumpkin Carvin'

Beth hosted a fabulous party to carve exotic pumpkins. We've learned Goldschlager in hot cider makes everything involving sharp utensils more fun.

Who is the best pumpkin cleaner-outer? Yee-haw!

With the precision of a fine surgeon, Greg carefully sculpted Meg's pumpkin scribble.

One particular masterpiece stood out in the motley crew of pumpkins.

Damn we make a good team...

NYC Weekend

Museum of Modern Art had us captivated on our only rainy day in town.
Tasty treats from a fancy French bakery - we ate well all weekend long.
Anthony Bourdain's first Les Halles, on Park Ave was French fabulous.
Times Square...who is the peanut guy?

Hot pastrami and swiss on rye from Carnegie Deli - tastiest when shared in Central Park. Vegetarians steer clear!

Lots of lines and stairs made the top of the Empire State Building far more enchanting.

Wine Tasting Picnic

A wine tasting buzz can easily be enhanced with amazing company and an over-the-top picnic spread but may diminish instantaneously when the Newfoundland background band pulls out the pan flute.

Aebleskiver Breakfast Madness

Behold, the power of the Aebelskiver. Passed down for generations, Greg was able to show Meg how the Danish really do breakfast (with moderate debate...)
